I'm really glad I didn't get to go to SCAD yet. My life is changing so much, but it's great, and I'll never forget these weeks. I still work two jobs. I have one class at Wake Tech.. which is more of an experience than a learning experience. It's weird and, most of the time, borders a waste of time. But I'm sticking to it.. I gotta get the second book asap. I have a bunch of great kitties that keep my life interesting. My best friend growing up is now living with us (in my room) before she leaves for the army. I love having her here. It's good roommate experience, and just.. a blast. It helps me get up in the morning. There's accountability involved. And then we just get to hang out a lot. Aaand we get to make her try all kinds of stuff that she never did before. Like.. poppin' wheelies on fourwheelers, or spinning donuts on the snow in the backyard, chasing chickens and collecting their eggs. It's hilarious. And it's nice to have someone who's close to your age, going through similar issues and changes, ect. It's just awesome, y'all. :D It's wonderful not worrying about a website. :x I feel kinda bad about it.. Maybe. Just bit. Tiny bit. If anything, I wish I could tell everyone on there to leave a live a little like I am. xD Actually, they probably already do all the stuff I'm doing now. I just... never did nearly as much hanging out and fun stuff as I am now. :D The massive change makes me not want to be part of what I was part of before... life on the internet. Like.. certain parts are okay, but.. eh.. I'm having so much fun in Reality Land now. SO NOW. Stories of all my recent activities! Staff Previews I've been going to a lot of the midnight shows we have at the Marquee nowadays. Mostly this is because for several weeks in a row, I would work 'till 10:30 or something, and have to pick Alicia up from a late shift around midnight or so. So.. why not stay for the staff previews? It's really really awesome to watch a movie with a bunch of friends... and be allowed to be totally obnoxious. We'll be texting, yelling at the movie/making loud comments, and we bring all kinds of food in the theater. Like.. McDonalds and Pizza. :D It's a blaaaast. I've always been so reserved. And it's not like we're breaking rules when we do this. We're allowed to be obnoxious. It's just us. xD Bubbles A good friend of mine just had his 21st birthday, but he doesn't drink or anything, so we found alternative ways to have fun. The day consisted of Adventure Landing, Chiles, Walmart, and a movie. We went to Walmart to kill time before we saw the Tooth Fairy, and we basically got some stuff we all needed, but then just looked around. At one point, I picked up some bubbles and was debating getting them. Then my friend was like "Ooh, bubbles! Are you getting some? I'll get some too." Then all four of us got these awesome giant bubble wands, and then went to the Marquee parking lot. While waiting for the movie to start, we four of us stood in the parking lot and blew bubbles. And it was slightly windy, so the bubbles carried all over the lot. All over it. From the theater to Wendy's behind the Kroger. xD And did you know bubbles make people happy? xD It was amazing! People would come out of their movie and be totally ecstatic over the bubbles! People would run into the lot and chase them. We had several people come over and ask to blow a couple bubbles. And not just girls. There were three guys a few cars up from us. One of them was just like "Hey! Can I try a few?" And two of them were going in the army soon. One guy was leaving the next day. And he was kinda hesitant to play with bubbles, but I told him that it was the little things in life, and it was his last night in the area for awhile, and he'd never forget this. So I gave him my wand and he pulled the wand out.. and it was so awesome. I saw his manly exterior melt away and expose the child that hides in everyone. He was like.. so enthralled with the bubbles. They thanked us and then we parted ways. And then we kinda ran out of bubbles.. So we piled into my friend's car and we ran back to Walmart, got a refill gallon, came back, and did it again. xD It was AWESOME. Going out to eat A bunch of us (co-workers) went to eat at Chiles the other day. I had never actually eaten out at a restaurant without a parent before. So besides it being just fun hangout time, I learned how to like.. pay for a sit down meal. >>; Hey. There's a lot of stuff I haven't done. :| Adventure Landing So we also went to Adventure Landing again. I seem to be there a lot lately. I raced go-karts, did some laser tag, lots of air hockey, games of chance, and DDR. And it was AMAZING. And somehow, I wasn't sore! I hadn't done any of that in so long.. like.. nearly eight months. And I was playing laser tag in HIGH HEELS (and got one of the highest scores). >D I guess just all the work I do at both jobs keeps me in better shape than I thought. :D Lots of Snow! It SNOWED. A LOT. ... Well. A lot for NC. Like, enough that schools were cancelled for three or four days, plus delays, and the entire weekend before that. Thanks to the Jeep we have now, Dad drove us a lot of places. We fishtailed and almost hit signs and a police officer, and it was so much fun. xD Such an adventure. Amazing. The roads were bad for days 'cause NC fails at clearing up the roads. Especially the back roads. I was driving with a friend a few nights ago, and we hit this snow out of nowhere and spun out, and almost hit the guard rail. But he's a really good driver apparently and we were fine. I was just like "Ohsnap. Bracing myself. I hope this doesn't put a big dent in his car." But we didn't even hit it. Good experience. I don't get many chances to drive in the snow.. by myself or with people. And I'm glad I happened to be driving with my friend when we hit the snow, 'cause I imagine it wouldn't have played out so well if I had been driving in my PT. xD And we went to the lake when it snowed. One of my friends does it when it snows, and I was curious as to what it looked like? So three of us went up there to the lake in the snow.. and ran around in the snowy woods for hours. Aaand.. I blew some bubbles on the hike up the hill. People were like "Bubbleslolwat?" Yes. Bubbles. And snow. It's beautiful. Clothes Shopping So I've been doing a lot of clothes shopping! ... It's not as bad as it sounds. Alicia and I hit the clearance racks. And considering I almost never buy clothes for myself by myself, it's.. new and cool. I loved adding stuff to my wardrobe. And I got some AWESOME deals for AWESOME clothes. It's just a lot of fun! And I'm not against store hopping in the mall for really good deals. >D Hanging out with the TKD group Sooo my old TKD class had an Adventure Landing outing, and Mrs. Stancil invited me via Facebook. I was soooo excited when I got it. I miss them all so much. Alicia wanted to go, too. So we both went. I got to talk to Mrs. Margaret, and Mrs. Stancil. Lots of catching up. I was almost shocked though, to hear that Mrs. Stancil is retiring from teaching at the end of February or so. Like.. class is done and over. Man... It's bittersweet... But I can really identify with the feelings she's having. It's pretty much how I felt with GZ. And it's bittersweet to let go, but once you do it, it's great to close a chapter of your life and move into the next. I got to hold her baby, Allie for a bit. She's 8 months old or so now. Man. I was almost shocked at how like.. my feelings towards babies has changed. Just eight months ago, not long after she was born, I saw her a couple times when I stopped by class to watch some testings. I did NOT want to touch her or hold her.. x_x I mean, I never want to hold babies. I'm afraid I'll drop them, or they'll spontaneously combust in my arms or something. xD I don't even know. I never even liked holding my own siblings when they were babies. I don't know why. BUT. Mrs. Stancil let me hold Allie and she was so cute. She's at a good age though I guess. But she was so cute.. She's a good baby. She loved giving Nathan weird looks, too. xD It was just... so.. good to feel comfortable holding a baby. Like. Someone else's. Not that I want my own now or something. I've just been so afraid to hold them in the past. It's nice to get past that strange nervous fear and just enjoy an itty bitty child. :) DDR So I've always loved DDR. I got my first Playstation in Florida when I was 12. When I was in JAX for 5 months, I played a LOT of DDR. It was probably how I stayed in shape during those long months of school, internet, and chicken wings. xD But as I got older, and my back got messed up, and I developed whatever kind of complex made me a tense nervous teenager who couldn't breathe anymore, I couldn't play. I'd just.. not be able to breath. BUT. Generic zoloft is good for my soul. I played a little at Adventure Landing awhile ago. And I've been there probably.. three times since then, playing a bit each time. And last time I just felt so.. good. Like. Aware, awake, loose, able to breathe. Dang. I tore that thing up. >D I missed playing it SO MUCH. And doing it again felt so good! >8D SO SO SO AWESOME. Midnight Bowling So the other night, I went on my first midnight bowling trip. I had heard of it before, but hadn't gone there. It's $40 for a lane, shoes included, up to six people, unlimited games from 11:00 PM - 1:00 AM. I'm really bad at bowling.. but my one of my co-workers who went with us is apparently some kind of closet bowler, so he showed me some tips. I had to do a couple fake practice runs.. and I was so excited to take all these steps, put them together, and fluidly combine them into something that worked. It felt like I was in TKD again for a moment, figuring out a new technique. <3 It took me like.. a whole game to figure it out. We only got through a game and a half, and I certainly lost, but it was a lot of fun. I'd love to go back and do it again. And like, you can win money and free games. How, I don't know... but it sounded awesome and made me more motivated. xD Paintball So Alicia spearheaded the endeavor to get a bunch of us (co-workers and some of their siblings) to go paintballing. And it actually worked out! I got four hours of sleep last night due to Midnight Bowling and then woke up at 7:00 in the morning and we met up at Waffle House with a bunch of people around 8:10? We ate some food, and then went back to my house and printed off some waivers for a couple under 18 people. Then we carpooled and went to the paintball field. We split the cost of the paint ($60), but the entry fee was $5 for the newbie weekend. And it was coooold, but we managed. Once you get running around long enough it's alright. The one downpoint was the fact our masks fogged up So. Dang. Bad. When we did the forest matches, my mask would fog up while I was walking to the field and I couldn't even see people to shoot them. D| And there were some dudes in camo outfits, which seemed silly, but when we were on field and my mask was foggy, I couldn't see 'em to save my life. I got shot a few times. The first time it hit my jacket sleeve. I got out, but didn't feel it. As bad it hurts for a second and leaves bad bruises on me for a month, I wanted some battle scars... but my clothes kept me pretty protected. My gun got splattered once. But all other times I got hit? It was my head. 8| First time I got splattered on the chin. I couldn't really see 'cause of my mask, but I saw some of the shell on my goggles.. so assumed the worst. xD Then one time I was between two friends behind a bunker, and I barely moved up, and got nailed right in the left eye. It was powerful, too. xD I just kinda staggerflailed backwards and got off the field before someone else decided to shoot me. xD And Tyler got hit at the same time, SMACK between the eyes. It was hilarious. Then at the last game I played, I only had four paintballs left. So I tried to use them wisely.. aaaand ran out, then someone splattered my gun. So I stood up, arms up, said I was out, ect.. was walking off the field and a paintball hit me in the back of the head and ricocheted off without breaking. It hurt. xD There's a bruise now. BUT at one point! I got Tyler out SO DANG GOOD. I was hiding behind this inflatable bunker, right? And had a great vantage point. I knew of three people right ahead of me and was trying to hit each one as they peaked out. Well, Tyler tried to make a dash for something, and I shot at him. And hit him. THREE TIMES. RIGHT IN THE GUT. IT WAS AMAZING. I gave 'im welts for sure. They'll totally be there for awhile. :B I didn't get out nearly as much as the last time I played. I lasted the entire game a lot of the time. :D 'twas cooool. x3 Then we all piled back in the vehicles and went to McDonalds in WaFo. :D We all got food and hung out in the back area, talking about the events, making fun of each other, and trying to figure out who shot who... xD It was awesome. Then we all came back to my house and hung out for a couple minutes... Like.. playing some soccer with a basketball apparently, chasing down some chickens, ect. Good times. My clothes were so muddy and messed up. I took a shower.. A really, really, really long shower. Totally drained the hot water. >D Then I slept for four hours. And it was good. In fact, life is good. :) Post a Comment Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom) About the Author Lacee North Carolina, United States I've made 18 loops around the sun, spend much of my time drawing and poking at the internet, and I love Jesus.
